Visit the UNESCO town of Baden-Baden, renowned for its cultural splendor and thermal baths. Meet your guide at the pier and drive to Baden-Baden. During the 19th century, the town was labeled “the Summer Capital of Europe” due to its leading attractions. During your guided walk, pass the Kurhaus, a complex of cultural gems, including the casino which was famously declared the world’s most beautiful by actress Marlene Dietrich. Pause at the old pump house and feel the warmth of the spring’s healing waters, then head to Lichtentaler Allee, a picturesque park that is home to the State Art Gallery. Admire its neoclassical facade and enjoy free time to stroll the park’s gardens before rejoining your motor coach for the journey back to your ship.

Enjoy a tasting of local wines here with a delicious lunch. Then, visit Neustadt to walk through its 14th-century old town of half-timbered houses and cobbled alleyways. After free time, return to your ship.

Embark on a scenic drive to see one of Baden’s treasured landmarks and relive the era of the baroque margraves. Upon arrival, step inside to admire the ornate interior of one of Germany’s best-preserved castles. Take a look at the collection of Meissen porcelain and view the impressive Hall of Mirrors, designed to magnify the palace’s valuable ceramics. Hear about the story of Sibylla Augusta, the widow of Margrave Ludwig Wilhelm who ruled from 1677 to 1707. She resided at the palace after his death. See the Open Kitchen, a room assigned to showcase her trove of glazed earthenware. Afterward, enjoy free time to stroll around the gardens and the beautiful lake, or you may choose to pause for refreshments at the on-site café.
